Lisa Messer getting retired after her 30 years of service in Chesterfield County Police

The first recipient of the Chesterfield County Domestic Violence Task Force annual award-Lisa Messer, is getting retired after her 30 years of service as a police official.

The Chesterfield County Police officials congratulated her through their official social media account.

Here is the complete statement:

First of all, whether she’s telling us “peace out” or she’s just being her hilarious self, we love this picture of Lisa Messer.

Second, we can’t believe she’s actually retiring. For 30 years, Ms. Lisa Messer has been a voice on the other end of the phone and the radio for us. She’s been a knowledgeable resource for our officers and a presence unmatched in the ECC.

“Messer” has held many roles during her tenure and she’s adapted to many changes in that length of time. Imagine how technology has changed the emergency and non-emergency response/capabilities in the Emergency Communications Center since 1982! Some of her notable roles include cross-trained dispatcher, communications training officer, shift supervisor and 911 educator. Being a 911 educator allowed her to teach the children of Chesterfield County Public Schools how to use 911.

Her dedication, thoroughness and talents led to her achievement of multiple life-saving awards, a unit citation for her work during the 2018 tornado that hit the county, and she was the very first recipient of the Chesterfield County Domestic Violence Task Force annual award.

We’re not sure how you thank someone in her profession for 30 years of service but to tell her she will be missed. Thank you for serving Chesterfield County, thank you for your hard work, thank you for taking care of us.

Congratulations to Ms. Lisa Messer! We wish you all the best in your well-deserved retirement.
