Newark: Two police officers tries to serve search warrant, killed

United States: A shooter is on the loose after at least two police officials were shot while serving a search warrant in the city of New Jersey-Newark, according to law enforcement.

The officers are in the health care centre in stable condition, as per the sources. 

The police officials are still looking for the gunman, who appears to have shot from an elevated location, which is likely a window, according to the sources. 

The Newark police officials have named the man who was the gunman Kendall Howard. 

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized charges against the gunman of two counts of attempted murder and unauthorized possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes as well as unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Furthermore, the state New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy shared a tweet on Twitter and highlighted, “I am aware of as well as closely monitoring an unfolding situation in Newark. I am in touch with local authorities, as well as the State is providing resources as requested. We will continue to support the local law enforcement as well as make sure that all residents are safe.”
