Weather: US to witness high chance of rainfall, colder temperature

United States: The former Charlotte Observer weather writer Steve Lyttle stated that there is a possibility of rainfall, and then the temperature will get more colder in Carolina, US. 

He shared the information through his official Facebook account. He highlighted that the big storm system that people have been talking about for a few days is moving eastward, as well as it will start affecting the Charlotte region within a few hours. 

The rainfall that we get this afternoon and evening will be on the light side, but it will be pouring at times later tonight and Thursday morning.

He also shared the National Weather Service graphic that anywhere from just under an inch to more than 2 inches could fall in Charlotte. But the Weather Service’s best guess is around 1.5 inches.

Once the rain ends, colder air will begin filtering into the region. This is the start of a big pattern change across the United States — a pattern change that will bring polar air into parts of the nation between now and Christmas. What’s unclear is whether the Charlotte region and the Carolinas will get the heart of the cold … and, if so, when that might happen.

The really cold air will pour into the Midwest, perhaps reaching as far south as Texas, in the week before Christmas. After that, people have to watch for any eastward progress.

TODAY: Overcast and cold, with a high of around 45. A few showers will arrive by early afternoon and continue through the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Cloudy, with a low of 39. Off-and-on showers are likely, and the rain will become steady during the night. The rain could be heavy at times.

THURSDAY: Cloudy, with rain, heavy at times, through the morning hours. The rain should taper off to occasional showers by midday. High of 48.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low of 36.

FRIDAY: Any morning clouds will give way to sunshine, with a high of 51.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low near freezing.

SATURDAY: Sunshine mixed with a few high clouds. Chilly, with a high of 48.

SUNDAY: Sunny and cold, with a high of 46.

MONDAY: A mix of sun and clouds and cold. High of 47.

TUESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds, with a high of 48.
