United States: Former Charlotte Observer weather writer Steve Lyttle shared the update on the weather of Carolina, there is a possibility of a winter storm next Thursday and replaced it with a big ‘ol rain storm for the state of United States.
He shared the information through the official social media account and highlighted, “The computer models giveth, and the computer models taketh away. And right now, the long-range computer guidance has taken the possibility of a winter storm next Thursday and replaced it with a big ‘ol rain storm for the Carolinas.”

Over the past 24-36 hours, the models have come into better agreement that a storm system will drive southward out of western Canada, drop into the central United States, and then turn northward to our west. Under this scenario, we in the Carolinas will remain on the east (or milder) side of the storm. That means rain. The big-time snow will fall to our west and northwest.
The storm system will be dragging a strong cold front, and that front eventually will bulldoze its way through the Carolinas, bringing some real cold weather for Christmas weekend. But most of the precipitation is likely to be gone before the rain ends.
So all in all, it looks like a chilly pre-Christmas week, a cold Christmas weekend, but nothing terribly out of the ordinary for our region.
TODAY: A mix of sun and clouds, with a high of 51. It will get breezy this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Clear. Low near 30.
SUNDAY: Sunny and cold. High around 45.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Clear and cold. Low near 25.
MONDAY: Sunshine, mixed with some high clouds, and continued cold. High of 47.
MONDAY NIGHT: Becoming cloudy, with a low near freezing.
TUESDAY: A weak storm system will be passing to our south, so we’ll have plenty of clouds, and there might even be a few sprinkles in the morning. High of 46.
WEDNESDAY: Sunshine, with increasing high clouds later in the day. High of 48.
THURSDAY: Overcast, with off-and-on showers. High near 50.
FRIDAY: Sunshine returns, but it will be breezy and very cold. High only reaching 34.
