Saint Lucia: Weather to remain cloudy, chances of brief showers

The Meteorological Department of Saint Lucia has shared the weather updates for the early morning of January 9, 2023, on Monday. The weather forecaster Glenn Antoine highlighted that people would observe fair skies in the night, and it will become occasionally cloudy with a few brief showers tomorrow. 

The weather at Hewanorra Airport is partly cloudy, the temperature at the airport is 26°C or 79°F, and according to the forecaster, the maximum temperature of the airport is going to be 26°C or 79°F.

Along with this, Glenn Antoine outlined the weather at the GFL Charles Airport, which is going to be partly cloudy. The way of wind at Hewanorra Airport is blowing from the east at the speed of 20 mph or 31 km/h. 

Moreover, the Rainfall report in the 24-hour period that ended at 2:00 pm, at both airports, 

  • Hewanorra Airport: 6.1 mm 
  • GFL Charles Airport: 3.7 mm

The total rainfall for the month of January thus far is Hewanorra Airport: 46.2 mm and GFL Charles Airport: 85.3 mm, respectively. 

As per the weather report, the timings of sunrise have been mentioned as 6:30 am, as well as sunset is 5:52 pm.

The seas are moderate to locally rough with waves as well as northeasterly to easterly swells, which are 5 to 7 feet or 1.5 to 2.1 metres. In addition, small craft operators, as well as sea bathers, are advised to exercise caution because of normal seas. 

The forecast for the Lesser Antilles, fair skies, is becoming cloudy at times, with some scattered showers.
