Agra: EMPOWER hosts initial meeting under India’s G20 Presidency

India: Recently, the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s G20 Empowerment and Progression of Women’s Economic Representation (EMPOWER) group held an initial meeting, acknowledging the growing demand for women’s empowerment.

There is no doubt that women’s rights are an important topic to discuss and consider, and Union Minister Smriti Irani emphasized three focus areas in the G20 Empower Inception meeting.

These three topics consisted of “The Benefits of Women’s Entrepreneurship for Equality and the Economy,” “Collaboration to Encourage Women’s Leadership Across All Levels, Including at the Community Level,” and “The Importance of Education in Empowering Women and Achieving Equal Participation in the Workforce.”

Yesterday, the G20 Empower Inception meeting was held in Agra. Previously, women were considered an honour and respectful way. Irani, the Minister of Women and Child Development, tweeted that the G20 organization will strengthen its commitment to empowering women in alignment with our cultural values and the Prime Minister’s vision for women-led development. She added the hashtag #G20India to the tweet.

As per the reports, the vision of G20 Empower is to “Be the most inclusive and action-driven collaboration among businesses and administration to rev women leadership and empowerment across the G20 countries.

India’s G20 Presidency is equitable, inclusive, decisive, ambitious and action-oriented, pushing forward transformative changes for women’s economic empowerment.

The G20 Empower under India’s G20 Presidency will focus on education, leadership and entrepreneurship among women. The meeting held in Agra yesterday was held with a theme of: Importance of Digital Skilling and Future Skills so that they can empower women toward leading across the sector, said Irani.

This year G20 summit is under India, and their main priority is to work on women’s development. They aim to transform challenges into opportunities revving the change towards women-led entrepreneurship and greater inclusion of women in the workforce.

Under India’s G20 Presidency, EMPOWER will host three meetings in February, April, and June 2023 at Agra, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhopal, respectively.
