Sri Lankan Airlines CEO thanks India for help during tough times

Richard Nuttall, CEO of Sri Lankan Airlines, has stressed the value of India to the airline. Nuttall claimed in an interview with ANI that India was essential to enabling Sri Lankan Airlines to carry on with business despite the prevailing economic turmoil. He said India had given the gas, and its civil aviation officials had also helped.

According to Nuttall, Sri Lanka has a lot to offer travellers regarding wellness, ayurveda, and adventure travel. He said Sri Lanka is a good place to serve the smaller cities in India, especially those in the east, because no other airline is in such a good spot. He also said that India is a big source of tourists for Sri Lanka because the country is known for having friendly people and good service.

But the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has increased the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), which hurts Sri Lanka’s economy. The effects of the COVID-19 outbreak have made things difficult for the nation’s airlines. Sri Lanka ran out of fuel in July and August, which posed a significant problem for Sri Lankan Airlines. Nuttall thanked the people who sell fuel and the Indian government for their help and support during this hard time.

With deck stops in India, Sri Lankan Airlines could run its whole network for two months while keeping a full schedule. Nuttall thanked India for all its help and said that India is very important to the airline. The CEO of Sri Lankan Airlines, Richard Nuttall, has stressed the significance of India to the company. He thanked India for helping Sri Lanka when it had a fuel shortage, and its economy was in trouble. India has made it much easier for the airline to run, and Sri Lankan Airlines is very thankful for this help.
