The Taste of Wadadli event-winning cocktail, the Blushing Bride, and Homebrew Hot Sauce, which won in the Fire Fit Mixologist and Hot Sauce competition, will be featured in the upcoming Restaurant Week scheduled for May 2023.
Altino Spencer’s (Ti Spencer) drink “The Blushing Bride” and Ensly, Shasha Smith and Deshawn Griffith’s “Homebrew Hot Sauce” topped among other competitors in the Fire Pit competition. They got featured as the Destination Hot Sauce of the Year and Destination Cocktail of the year.
The Mixologist named his winning drink “The Blushing Bride” because of the pink gin brewed in English Harbour by David Murphy of the Antilles Still House with a sorrel base, giving the cocktail a lovely pink blush.
Altino Spencer cheerfully remarked that winning and being featured is a sign of hard work and perseverance that pays off. He cannot be humble because of the opportunity to experience this.
Regarding “Homebrew Hot Sauce,” Shasha Smith stated that hot sauce has always been a part of her household, and growing up as a mom, it was an escape for her. She extended that her brother Deshawn and she took some leftover brew from their mom, and with her support and guidance, they developed their brand today; this feature and recognition mean a lot to her family.
The Blushing Bride and Homebrew Hot Sauce will also be at the centre stage as the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority hosts, bringing a unique Antiguan and Barbudan experience to thrill your senses.
In under fourteen days, the inaugural Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week will celebrate one of the destination’s best food, people, and cultural qualities. Delectable cuisine and special menus at prix-fixe (discounted) prices across various restaurants will be offered to diners, visitors, and nationals.
Diners can also enjoy local food alongside international chef appearances and the Food and Art Experience after the fourteen-day food experience.
