Clara Lionel Foundation(CLF) nominates Keithlin Caroo as Leader of the Month

The Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), founded by singer Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty, nominated Keithlin Caroo, Founder and Executive Director of Helen’s Daughters, one of CLF’s Climate Justice partners, as the Leader of the Month.

The Clara Lionel Foundation funds groundbreaking education and emergency preparedness and response programs around the world.

Keithlin, a rural, first and foremost woman, is an advocate and changemaker in gender equality in agriculture and rural development in St. Lucia, St. Vincent, St. Kitts & Nevis, & the Grenadines.

The update from The Clara Lionel Foundation provided brief information regarding Keithlin that she found Helen’s Daughters off the side of her desk with her own time and funds while working at the United Nations.

In addition, the update added that Helen’s Daughters had changed the perception of women from their free training programs in farming regarding targeting rural women, free rural health clinics, farm-to-table cooking shows, and scholarship programs.

Nowadays, the agri-tourism network also allows women in agriculture to earn additional income streams.

Furthermore, the update also highlighted that Keithlin is one of the Youngest World Ambassadors under the nomination of the recipient of the 2018 National Youth Award in Agriculture, a Thought for Food Ambassador.

She also volunteers in a Forbes Island Innovation feature, Ashoka and Echoing Green fellow, and Queen’s award recipient (MBE) for humanitarian services.

One of the Caribbean social media users, Tennyson Leon Foundation, which works in healing young people from intergenerational patterns of poverty, trauma, and abuse took to comment section and commented, “Congratulations madam Keithlin Caroo on your leading position as an advocate and changemaker in the fields of gender equity in Agriculture and Rural development.”

While another social media user, Win Boi, a student of BlueCrest University College Liberia, added, “Congratulations madam”
and extended, “Please I really need u guys help”.
