Nicholas Pooran shows injuries he received during 5th T20

The West Indies power hitter Nicholas Pooran displays the injuries he sustained during the fifth T20 game of the five-match test series against India.

He posted a picture of the red stains on his stomach and hand on social media after suffering two injuries from a hard shot by Brandon King that impacted Pooran’s hand and a delivery by Arshdeep Singh that struck Pooran in the stomach.

Even after being struck twice, the Windies power hitter kept playing and contributed to his team’s historic victory by playing critical innings for his team and leading them towards victory.

West Indies defeated India in a bilateral series for the first time in seventeen years. At Central Broward Regional Park in Florida, USA, the Inda tour of the West Indies came to a close with a 3-2 series victory for the hosts.

In the fifth T20, Nicholas Pooran made a contribution by scoring 47 runs in 35 balls. Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Indian team, challenged Pooran to hit him following India’s victory in the third T20 game. “He said, “If Nicholas Pooran wants to hit me for sixes, let him hit me.”

By hitting them three sixes, including two in his first over, he destroyed Pandeya’s arrogance. Pooran scored 176 runs in five innings, hitting 11 fours and 11 sixes, earning him the title of man of the series.

Nicholas Pooran achieved another milestone in this series as he overcame to become the leading West Indies player with the most sixes against India.

He surpassed Dasun Shanaka’s record for the most sixes against India. The big “6” hitters’ reward went to him in the form of a guitar. As he wasn’t present during the moment, Rowman Powell, the captain of the Windies, accepted the reward on his behalf.
