Trinidad and Tobago: Police recover two stolen vehicles, seized drugs and ammunition

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: As part of ongoing Operation Blue Line drills, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Services reported on August 7, 2023, that they had recovered two stolen vehicles, seized a significant amount of drugs and ammunition, and discovered one bulletproof vest.

On Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm, numerous areas in the North Eastern Division participated in an Operation Blue Line drill. Along with two magazines and 23 rounds of ammunition, a total of 1.6 kilograms of marijuana were also discovered and taken into custody. Additionally, a bulletproof vest was found concealed in the ceiling of an abandoned building.

On Sunday, August 6, 2023, two stolen automobiles were also found during separate operations. A silver Mitsubishi Wagon that had been reported stolen was found near Lady Young Link Road.

Later on the same day, a silver Nissan Versa that had been reported stolen from the Trinity neighbourhood was found in Morvant.

Members of the North Eastern Division Task Force, Canine Unit, and Gang and Intelligence Unit participated in these drills. ACP (Ag.) Subero, Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Edwards, W/Supt. (Ag.) George, and ASP (Ag.) Callender was in charge of them, and Insp. Ramsingh served as their coordinator.

Furthermore, A 37-year-old man was sentenced to three years of hard labour by Magistrate Anslem Leander after entering a guilty plea to shop breaking and larceny when he appeared before a Scarborough magistrate last Friday.

PC John of the Scarborough Police Station detained Jelani Charles, 37, of Main Road, Lans Fourmi, Tobago, on August 2 and charged him with the crime on August 3.

A mini-mart owner locked up shop on Mt. Marie Road in Scarborough on July 29, according to a police report, and left. When she returned, she saw an open window on the building’s northern side. She carried out additional inspections inside and found that $1,860 was stolen.
