Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: West Indies vs India three-match ODI Series ended yesterday with another victory for India. The Men in Blue sealed the series by 2-1, defeating Windies by 200 runs.Â
Yesterday, August 2, 2023, India set a massive target of 351 after a surprising defeat in second ODI. At Kensington Oval, the Indian batting order collapsed in 40 overs scoring only 181 runs.Â
West Indies perfectly seized the opportunity and broke the deadlock by winning the game with six wickets in hand. Shai Hope, the Barbadian, performed outstandingly and played remarkable innings of 63 runs in 80 balls.Â
Keacy Carty remains the second top scorer in the 2nd ODI, scoring 48 runs in 65 balls. Both contributed 111 runs leading the Windies to a long-awaiting victory. The triumph over India in second ODI has given some relief to West Indies fans who were disappointed due to Windies’ absence from ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.Â
The victory also boosted the confidence of West Indies squad ahead of five match T20 series scheduled to begin from tomorrow, August 3, 2023. The first match will be played at the same venue, Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.Â
