Port of Spain: Officers of the Eastern Division arrested six persons for violations, including marijuana possession and possession of camouflage clothing, yesterday, October 21, 2023.
During several anti-crime exercises conducted in the Sangre Grande division, officers targeted the following areas: –
1. Eastern Main road Sangre Grande,
2. Andre street,
3. Shops of Cunapo,
4. The Sangre Grande Market.
5. Damarie Hill and
6. Northeastern Settlement.
A total of 527 grams of cannabis were found and seized at various locations during these exercises.
Six persons were also arrested for the following:- a 40-year-old man from Goda Avenue Sangre Grande, for the offence of possession of Cocaine,2grams and possession of camouflage clothing,
a 29-year-old man of Jacob Coat, Northeastern Settlement, for the offence of possession of camouflage clothing,
a 32-year-old man of Cedarwood Drive, Northeastern Settlement for the offence of possession of camouflage clothing,
a 41-year-old woman of Picton Road, Sangre Grande, for the crimes of Obscene Language, insulting Language and
Resisting Arrest.
Officers also arrested a 38-year-old man from Lucas Trace, Sangre Grande, for the offences of Obscene Language and Resisting Arrest and a 26-year-old man for possession of 115 grams of Marijuana. PC Baseano is continuing enquiries.
Additionally, Western Division officers also arrested two men and seized a quantity of Marijuana during anti-crime exercises yesterday.
During 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, a party of officers conducted several searches of known hot spot areas, including Cicada Drive, Bagatelle Road, Tomato Trace, Gookool Street and Dillon Street Diego Martin.
At the last mentioned location, a transparent plastic bag and a container containing marijuana were found and seized. The drug weighed 150 grams.
A warrant exercise conducted in the division resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old man and a 56-year-old man for possession of marijuana exceeding the legal amount. The suspects were arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
