Man confesses to two mysterious murders in Virginia and Maryland

In Maryland and Virginia, the investigation of two criminal cases have been pending for the last 15 years, till a 52-year-old man named Charles Helem, accepted that he was behind both the cases. The information is provided by the police of Maryland.

Prince George’s County Police Department shares the Charles Helem notes, and the information about his confession that he committed a crime in 1987 of murdering Eige Sober-Adle in Fairfax County in Virginia, and in 2002 he has killed a woman, identified as Jennifer Landry, in Mount Rainier, Maryland

Currently, the man is facing a life sentence in the Red Onion State prison which is in Virginia, because of the reason for the death of Patricia Bentley, 37-year-old in 2002. Moreover, in 2002 Helem was under arrest in Fairfax County and was convicted for the case in 2003, as per the police. The information about the attorney for Helem has not been disclosed yet.

On Wednesday, during a press conference at the Fairfax County Police Department, Chief Kevin Davis mentioned, “A single mother named Patricia was killed inside her home in Chantilly.”

In 2010 the cases of the two incidents were reignited again for the investigation, during a letter shared by Helem to the Mount Rainier Police department claiming to have all the necessary details about the murder of a 19-year-old person named Landry, was from Randolph, Massachusetts.

In a news release, it was mentioned that “The detectives were trying their best to have a word with him in prison, but he wasn’t speaking a single word and refused to give the interview. Afterwards, there was another letter shared by Helem but again has refused for the interview.”

“In September 2021, the PGPD Cold Case Unit detectives again tried to have an interview with him, and at this time, he agreed to the discussion. “
