Over 1,200 students to stay home unless schools improves safety measures towards COVID-19

In California, Oakland, around 1,200 children have signed a formal petition for discontinuing the school. They said, they will stay at home unless the school authorities provide more protection and safety towards the COVID-19 infection.

As per the information provided, the students are protesting around the nation for the demand for the proper safety measures from the school authorities and better facial masks as well as providing the test for the COVID-19.

There is the requirement of the N95 masks, test every week, and following social distancing for assuring the safety and protection for continuing the face-to-face school. Otherwise, they said they will prefer virtual learning instead of learning in class.

According to the information provided, approximately three district campuses were shut down as students and teachers were home. The OUSD-Oakland Unified School District spokesman, John Sasaki, was mentioned in the news conference that the data of the attending individuals is not yet available until the next day.

The majority of the children are asked to stay at home, and the district is working on children protection and safety as they are going to share tests that will be free of cost as well as the masks. They are going to implement other safety agreements involving the air purifiers. Apart from this, the children and the teachers claimed to be finding inequalities while distributing the resources among the schools in all the wealthy and no so well off areas.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been increasing continuously by which all the people are struggling. In New York City, Chicago, Washington Dc and New Jersey have established the protest, and the requisition is appealing the enhancement of the safety measures.
