In the USA, cricket officials have declared that the women team under-19 is ready for going to the Caribbean for the first time. There is a match against the Windward Islands in the series of 4 Twenty20 in the upcoming month.

The Windward Islands mainly includes the players from the Islands of St. Vincent, the Grenadines, Grenada, St. Lucia, and Dominica. By keeping in mind the long-term approaches of the partnership between the Windward Cricket Board and SVG-the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association. The strategies between the teams USA Cricket and Cricket West Indies (CWI).
The tour has set up a benchmark for women and girls games in the United States, with the newly launched domestic pathway, the Sistar Mortgage Women’s National Championships (Senior Women’s and Under 19), alongside the successful ICC T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier in Mexico and the recently-abandoned ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe. The Windward Islands tour demonstrates the progress made on our USA Cricket Foundational Plan’s strategic focus on Women & Girls.
Apart from this, the Board members of the USA Cricket and the chairperson of the Women and Girls Committee, Nadia Gruny, mentioned, “As being the partner with the WICB- Windward Islands Cricket Board as well as St. Vincent and Grenadines Cricket Association, they are delighted. Moreover, The series that has been created will bring advantages to both the teams which are involved. From this step, majority of the females will be in front of a great opportunity.”
The President of Windward Islands Cricket Board, Dr Kishore Shallow, said, “This journey brings growth and elevated opportunities for the girls that are good in sports. They will explore and learn new things. However, both the USA Cricket and the WICB have taken a good initiative for women development, which also leads to the nation’s development. They are thankful to the USA Cricket for their co-operation.”
