On 1st January 2022, Tuesday, in the United States, there were two campus officers shot dead at the Bridgewater College in Virginia. As per the information provided by the sources, the act of violence in the college has stunned everyone because, in the previous year, the institution was ranked as the safest place in the state.
The Virginia police mentioned after having the interaction with the suspect, the officers that were killed was recognised as the “Dynamic Duo” and were around the small liberal arts college on the campus, where they both were shot.
The president of the school, David Bushman, stated in the statement to the community of the campus, “The incident is heartbreaking and it is going to be the dark day for the Bridgewater College.”
However, the officers on the campus at the Bridgewater answered a call of a single male around 1:20 p.m, according to the information provided by the authorities on Tuesday.
After the man shot both the officers, he ran from the campus, and it was captured by the police officers around 2 p.m.
The man was named Alexander Wyatt Campbell 22-year-old has been under arrest and has been charged with the two felony totals of capital murder, one first-degree murder, and a gun in the execution of a crime, said the authorities.
Apart from this, the police said they had discovered various handguns inter-related with the Campbell on as well as off-campus.
