US environmentalist Maggy Hurchalla passes away at 81

In the United States, on Saturday, Maggy Hurchalla, an environmentalist, has fought to protect the wetland of Florida and was a staunch supporter of his sister Janet Reno, the former US attorney general who has died. She passed away at the age of 81.

Janet Reno’s sister Maggy Hurchalla has been passed away on Saturday.

The non-profit group Friends of the Everglades confirmed her death and mentioned her as a legend.

Moreover, the entire group shared a post on the website by mentioning that her granddaughter named Kym Hurchallai is part of the staff. “The impact of Maggy on Florida’s conservation movement cannot be overstated. Her advocacy was fueled by an in-depth love for Florida’s wilderness.”

Additionally, Hurchalla has served for around 20 years as a Martin County commissioner.

She has travelled to share the information related to her sister Reno who under President Bill Clinton, became the first female US attorney general.

She gives her full support to the campaign of 2002 of Reno for the governor in Florida.

Along with this, in 2013, she gave her voice for a single episode of “The Simpsons”, in which shows Reno as a character. Further, her sister was not able to speak more because she was suffering from Parkinson’s, which was also the main reason for her death. She died in 2016.

Hurchalla has been a crucial part of the environmental restoration has been served on the Governor’s Commission for a Sustainable South Florida.

Kayaking through the Everglades near her residence in Stuart in Florida was something she was known for.
