California: Health officials to ease mask mandates for students from 11 March

In California, on Monday, February 28, the health officials declared that the educational institution would ease the mask mandates for the staff members and the students in the classrooms.

On March 11, the latest indoor mask policy for the schools goes into effect after 11:59 p.m.

Along with this, the vaccination status of the individuals will no longer be required to be vaccinated in the majority of the indoor places on March 1, but the facial masks will be strongly needed for everyone.

The facial covers will be required for the individuals in the place where the transmission rate is high, including public transit, emergency shelters, health care settings, correctional facilities, homeless shelters and long-term care facilities.

The Local jurisdictions may also have more requirements above the guidance of the state.

In addition, the Governor of California named Gavin Newsom mentioned in a statement, “California constantly adjust our policies that is based on the new data and science, applying what we have learned over the last two years to direct our response to the pandemic. Masks are an effective tool to minimize the spread of the virus and future variants, especially when transmission rates are high.”

He stated, “We cannot foresee the future of the condition, but we are better ready for it and will continuously take measures rooted in science to keep California moving forward.”

The mask mandates all over the state have been relaxed for vaccinated people at the beginning of the month of February 15, but not the unvaccinated people or the schoolchildren.

Currently, the state of California needs all of the K-12 students to mask up indoors. All of the adults are required to wear a mask in public places with the children.
