In Colorado, the Greeley and Windsor area schools face more irregular issues after the mask mandates have been released. They are facing fewer objections from the communities.
Two months before, the authorities have made the decision related to the changes in the mask policy for the COVID-19 in the district, and since then, the Weld RE-4 School District has been at a different place.
The Correspondence to the board of education that was on the highly politicized mask problem has been reduced.
As per the information provided by the board of education members, the cases of people getting affected by the COVID-19 infection in the district have been reduced gradually.
In the month of January, the Windsor-based school system has observed around 562 cases of COVID-19 infection in between the students and the teachers, which was more than thrice in the last one month increase of 176 in August.
In September, there were 129 cases, and all of these gave their contribution to the previous board of education of the district of executing a mask mandate for the entire system in the beginning.
Along with this, the president of the board, Russ Smart, mentioned, “I think we initially received emails from the mask-conscious group. I think it’s quieted down tremendously. Not hearing a lot of feedback with that.”
Furthermore, Weld RE-4 board member Aaron Smith said, “Sure, when there’s no playbook to follow, it’s always more difficult,” Smith said. “I don’t know that either way would’ve been easier, honestly, if they gave us direction or not. The ultimate decision does lie with us as a board to decide what is best for our district.”
According to the data provided by the CDC director Dr Rochelle Walensky, on Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated the guidance of COVID-19, which is based on the community levels of the virus.
