In Florida, a man named Javier Rosado Martinez, accused of killing a 93-year-old lady at an Orange County senior residence, appeared before a judge on Thursday in the afternoon.
In Orange County, Rosado Martinez was detained without bond on a first-degree murder allegation.
On Sunday, at night, he murdered Dolores Padilla-Marrero. On that day, she celebrated her birthday, and some hours later, Martinez killed her.
Along with this, the Orange County Sheriff named John Mina asserted, “This is a tragic and heinous case, and our thoughts are with her family and her loved ones.”
The Orange County Sheriff, along with the lead investigator that was assigned for the case, highlighted that the incident took place inside the apartment at the St. Joseph Gardens Court, which is an independent living facility off Alafaya Trail.
Moreover, as per the details provided by the arrest affidavit, the residents of that area observed on Sunday night “a heavyset Hispanic male wearing baggy clothing.” One “granted him access to the facility”, for which he had no key.
Afterwards, on Monday, one of the daughters of the 93-year-old female with her husband discovered her mother in her bedroom. She was faceup on the bed and was without clothes, and her body was covered with a blanker, as well as Padilla-Marrero’s face was covered with a pillow that was pressed against her face.
However, Sgt. Joe Covelli with OCSO mentioned, “We had her autopsy. The medical examiner got the information related to the reason for her death: strangulation, blunt force trauma to her torso and the manner of death was a homicide.”
Furthermore, the head of the Catholic Charities, Gary Tester, who was managing the apartments, stated, “We join with the family in prayers at this unfortunate time…, and we want to assure our residents and join with them as well because they grieve that loss.”
