Governor Cooper announces to ‘Chart a new course’ to defeat COVID-19

In the United States, North Carolina, the Governor of North Carolina named Roy Cooper mentioned that it is time to initiate a “chart a new course” to defeat the variant of the COVID-19 infection.

On Thursday, Cooper has deplored the situation the state and the rest of the world have been through since the previous two years.

Along with this, he mentioned, “Personally, I anticipated many challenges as governor, but a global pandemic was not one of them.”

The governor stated that North Carolina can look forward “with the thought that the worst is behind us.”

Cooper further mentioned, “In the last two years, we wrote a history of hardship and resilience, challenges and victories, setbacks and successes. We enter the next phase of individual responsibility, preparedness and prosperity. It is time to chart a new course. The virus will still be with us but won’t disrupt us.”

As the cases of the people getting affected by the COVID-19 infection decreases as well as the individuals getting admitted in the hospitals continue to decline, the Governor of North Carolina shared his remarks related to the situation.

On Wednesday, there was 2.6 percent of the cases observed in the entire state on a daily basis. Around 799 patients were hospitalized in the health care centre because of the infection.

Cooper highlighted that over 23,000 North Carolinians have faced death and “to this cruel virus and their families still hurt today.”
