Missouri officer dies after tragic shooting

On Friday, in the state in the Midwestern region of the United States, Missouri the Joplin, Mo. officer named Jake Reed has died after the shooting took place on Tuesday.

After the incident took place, he was rushed to the hospital. He was the second Missouri cop and is remembered as “care-free” and “loving.

Moreover, the local police have declared his death on Saturday, March 12. He faced death after he suffered from the injuries he got at the time of the shooting.

Along with this, the police department mentioned in the Facebook post, “Yesterday evening Officer Jake Reed continued his service to others as his vital organs were escorted to the airport and flown across the country to give life to others.”

“The department escorted Jake’s body to the funeral home past many citizens who exited their vehicles in the roadway and held hands over hearts or saluted us as we passed,” it went on.

Further, it mentioned, “May God and our community be with Officer Reed’s family and the recipients of his gifts of life last night.”

As per the Joplin police, in 2017, the 27-year-old joined the police department. On Friday evening, the department took the body of Reed to a funeral home. There were the people from Joplin as his body was passing by them.

However, Reed’s high school baseball coach in Arkansas remember the fallen officer as “care-free” and “loving.”

The baseball coach at Bentonville High School where Reed graduated in 2013 named Tom Abbot mentioned, “He was always smiling and laughing. The smile is what stands out to me the most. Seeing that smile of his.”

Furthermore, Abbott further added, “It’s tragic. There’s a loving, care-free guy serving his community and starting his career, and his life is tragically cut short.”

“He always was smiling, or someone was with him laughing. I know he’s loved, and he’s going to be missed.”
