NJ Black man sustains shot, paralyzed by officer while grabbing ice tea from car

In the previous month, in New Jersey, a black man who was grabbing an ice tea from the car was shot and paralyzed by an officer.

As per the lawsuit alleging excessive force, negligence and racial profiling, the officer was wearing plain-clothed who shot the black man.

On February 12, the man named Jajuan R. Henderson, 29-year-old, was getting the ice tea from a Saturn Ion which was parked of his shortly after midnight in Trenton, the civil suit filed Wednesday in Mercer County.

Along with this, there was the group in which all of the men were wearing dark clothes and facial masks; they were driving an unidentified vehicle boxed in the Saturn, which was parked parallel, as per the legal action.

Moreover, Henderson did not recognize who the people were. One of the individuals in that vehicle came out and started yelling. Afterwards, the 29-year-old then attempted to use his phone to call for help, says the suit.

However, one of the men smashed the driver’s side window as and Henderson was shot a maximum of four times.

The lawsuit stated, “This group of men, appearing as any other group of dangerous criminals from a horror video, prove to be from the Trenton Police Department.”

Meanwhile, “A Black man sitting in a vehicle at around 12 (midnight) while on a mobile phone was all the not identified by the police required to smash the driver’s side. Despite being not equipped, nonthreatening, and minding his own business, the police further proceed to use lethal force and shoot Jajuan in the neck. It is a miracle Jajuan survived.”

According to the sources, Henderson is currently paralyzed from his chest down.

Furthermore, an attorney representing Henderson named Derek Demeri, on Friday, there are people that are still unknown in the case, such as the plain-clothed officers’ objective that night.
