European Commission contributes €3.5 billion to support the EU nations

The European Commission mentioned that the individuals who are escaping the war-torn nation are in need of our immediate support. They have paid €3.5 billion to support the European Union nations.

On the official Twitter account of the European Commission, it has been mentioned that “People fleeing the war in Ukraine need our immediate support. We have paid €3.5 billion to help EU countries welcoming refugees so they can offer food, accommodation, healthcare, education, jobs and more to those in need.”

On the social media of EC, it was further highlighted, “The EU contribution will alleviate the pressure on EU countries’ public budgets so that they can better deal with the inflow of refugees.”

Along with this, the Commission for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa named Ferreira, stated, The EU stands in solidarity with Ukraine against the invasion by Russia as well as with our Member States in their solidarity effort of welcoming people fleeing the war. Today we see another concrete outcome of our solidarity with the mobilization of cohesion funds to where these are more needed.

In addition, the Commissioner for Jobs, as well as the Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit, added to the statement, “People fleeing the war in Ukraine need immediate support to rebuild their lives in safety. With these advance payments, Member States can offer food, accommodation, healthcare, education, help access jobs and more to those in need.

By looking at Russia’s full-scale military operation against Ukraine, which was started on February 24, the Commission has mobilized every effort to support civilians escaping from the invasion as well as help the Member States host and take care of them.

Additionally, the member states can now take full advantage of the opportunities that have been introduced by the Commission.
