Sacramento plane crash: Man, woman killed near Golden Gate Bridge

United States: In Sacramento, two people have been killed in a plane crash nearby Golden Gate Bridge, according to the officials.

On Friday, the authorities identified both of the victims that had been killed during a plane crash near the Golden Gate Bridge as a Sacramento man and woman.

Moreover, the Coroner’s officials identified the people as 57-year-old Michael B. Briare and 52-year-old Jennifer Lyn Fox, both Sacramento residents, the County Sheriff’s Office stated in a social media post on Monday morning.

In a Saturday email to parents, Jesuit High School in Arden Arcade stated that Fox, the mother of a Jesuit sophomore and a senior at St. Francis High School, perished in an aircraft crash with a friend on Friday.

Along with this, Fox and Briare died after a single-engine Vans RV-10 collided into the hills of the Marin Headlands northwest of the Golden Gate Bridge shortly after noon Friday, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office highlighted in the statement.

Authorities said the jet’s emergency beacon was triggered minutes later, and rescue crews found the plane in mountainous terrain at 2 p.m.

In addition, according to the Sheriff’s Office, two occupants of the plane were “located within the wreckage” and pronounced dead at the place where the incident took place. “Locating the aircraft was hampered by heavy fog & condensation, which obscured visibility in the area,” the Sheriff’s Office noted.

The Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, and authorities from the National Park Service’s Golden Gate National Recreation Area are still investigating the cause of the collision.

Furthermore, Briare was listed as a co-owner of the plane by the FAA, although the jet was not registered in his name. Fox, known as “JJ,” was also an aunt to five Jesuit High students, according to an email sent out on Saturday by school president John McGarry and administrator Michael Wood, which provided a link to bereavement counselling resources on campus.
