United States: A ten-year-old girl who fatally shot a woman during a fight with her mother could be charged with murder, as per Florida authorities. The authorities in Florida have made the following statement on Tuesday.
As per the statement released by Orlando Police Department, the minor girl, who was apprehended and taken to a juvenile facility, could face a case of second-degree murder in the death of Lashun Denise Rodgers, who is 41-year-old.
Along with this, the State Attorney’s Office also said that it has started to review the case but has not made a charging decision.
State Attorney Monique H. Worrell mentioned in the written statement, “This shooting is an unimaginable tragedy that defies easy solutions.”
The victim’s boyfriend shared the information with the police officer that he and Rodgers were grilling at their apartment complex on late on May 30. According to the arrest affidavit for Issac, the mother of the child, Lakrisha Issac, confronted her over a past brawl.
He highlighted Issac approached Rodgers started arguing, and threw the first punch, the document mentioned. The victim responded with a strike of her own, as per to his account.
The man outlined that he grabbed his girlfriend and started to walk away when she turned around to “re-engage” Issac, at which point the girl fired one or two shots, striking Rodger’s boyfriend, the girl, who was still handling the firearm, said, “She shouldn’t have hit my momma,” the police filing stated.
