Washington: Totalled McLaren 600 LT found on roadside after its owner flees car

United States: In Washington state, a totalled 2020 McLaren 600 LT was discovered on the side of the road as its owner appeared ready to run from the more than $200,000 expensive sports car.

The sleek and expensive car can reach speeds of up to 124 MPH in less than 10 seconds, but according to Washington State authorities, it came to a stop after presumably colliding with a guard barrier along State Road 512 in Tacoma.

Early on Tuesday morning, the state police posted images of the white McLaren that had been totalled, along with a statement that troopers were looking into the hit-and-run incident.

The car, which can cost upwards of $250,000, can be seen in photos stuck beneath the guard rail with the driver’s side scissor door open.

Another Twitter used asked the question if there were injuries. Trooper Robert Reyer replied, “We aren’t sure. The driver fled the scene!”

The owner of the car, which can reach 62 MPH in 2.9 seconds, has not been located, according to trooper John Dattilo, who revealed this information on Wednesday. According to the sources, it was towed away Monday night.

“This kind of crash happens all the time, where people don’t want to get in trouble, so they leave the car behind,” Dattilo mentioned. “But it’s not necessarily common for it to be a $200,000 McLaren, though.”

The vehicle, which still had its dealership license plates, wasn’t reported as stolen, and Dattilo claimed that the registered owner of the car resides in Washington.
