United States: Six individuals were injured on Friday night when a car jumped the curb and hit a table outside a restaurant in Chicago.
About five of the victims were transported to the nearby hospital, as per the tweet from the Chicago Fire Department’s account. One of the six victims was unwilling to the treatment, so the person refused.
The fire department mentioned that the vehicle was stolen and the driver was “fleeing” when the car jumped the curb just before 10:30 p.m.
The police officials said the information is not confirmed yet.
A police release highlights that the silver Lexus sedan tried to pass a Toyota Prius travelling in the same direction when it clipped the front of the car (Prius).
Meanwhile, the driver of the Lexus lost control and jumped the curb, and he hit multiple individuals dining on the patio at Uproar. According to the Uproar Facebook statement, two of the people injured are restaurant employees.
According to the police, three people—two males, ages 26 and 32, and a lady, age 26—were transported to St. Mary’s in fair health condition. Two women, ages 26 and 24, also suffered broken legs and were transported to Northwestern in good health condition.
The Lexus’s driver sped away from the accident. The event is still being investigated, and no one has been taken into custody.
