NJ transgender inmate transfers to male facilty after impregnating 2 inmates

United States: A transgender inmate has been transferred out of the only women’s prison in New Jersey after impregnating two female inmates.

The 27-year-old, Demi Minor, has been moved to the vulnerable housing unit at the Garden State Youth Correction Facility, a prison for young adults ages 18 to 30, as per to Dan Sperranzza, a New Jersey Department of Corrections spokesman.

Sperazza has mathere are three trans women housed in the youth facility’s vulnerable housing unit, though the prison’s general population houses only men.

Moreover, the removal of Minor from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women comes just year following the state reached a settlement with the American Civil Liberties Union of the New Jersey to house transgender inmates as per to their gender identity, instead of their sex assigned at birth. The facility right now houses 27 transgender inmates, NJ Advance Media reported.

Sperranzza mentioned in the statement that, “Plans related to an incarcerated person’s housing are finalized within the parameters of the settlement agreement which adds consideration of gender identity as well as the health & safety of individual.”

The ACLU of New Jersey did not mentioned a response to the sources requests for comment related to the prison transfer of the Minor.

Furthermore, the minor is serving a 30-year-old prison sentence for manslaughter, impregnated the fellow inmates earlier this year following consensual sexual sex between inmates is prohibited in the state.

Minor, who is serving a 30-year imprisonment sentence for manslaughter, impregnated the fellow prisoners earlier this year after consensual sexual relationships, Sperrazza assured. He mentioned that even consensual sex between inmates is prohibited in the state.
