Car struck a restaurant in Virginia, injuring 14 people: police

United States: A motorist crashed his car into a restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, on Friday, injuring 14 people, according to police and fire authorities.

According to officials, the collision started a building fire that has since been put out.

It is still unknown what caused the terrible collision.

Photographs of the scene outside Ireland’s Four Courts Irish bar reveal a substantial fire department presence, while video taken from above the site reveals significant smoke rising from the structure.

First responders in Arlington said that eight patients were taken to nearby hospitals following the collision, four of whom had severe injuries and four of whom had non-life-threatening ones. Six other patients received treatment on-site before being discharged.

Fire authorities claim that engineers examined the structure and found it to be structurally sound. However, officials insisted that people still could not enter the building.

According to Arlington County Police, the incident is being looked into.
