Gunshots in Chicago results in nine fatalities

United States: Over the weekend, gunshots in Chicago resulted in at least 35 shootings, nine of which were deadly.

Around the course of the weekend, gunshots occurred all over Chicago, leaving eight people dead and 25 others injured, including a 5-year-old kid.

A man and a five-year-old kid were shot in Rogers Park on the North Side. When another automobile drew up, and someone opened fire, the 25-year-old guy was reportedly driving in the 7600-block of North Paulina Street at the time, according to the police. According to the authorities, the youngster was struck in the head and was rushed in severe condition to Lurie Children’s Hospital. The man sustained wrist and shoulder injuries from gunfire. He travelled by himself to the St. Francis hospital, where he is doing well.

On Sunday evening, a man was hurt, and a lady was slain in front of the Morgan Park district police station. When a gray Chrysler started pursuing the two while they were in a car on South Vincennes Avenue close to Monterey Avenue, someone inside fired numerous rounds, according to police. According to authorities, the motorist, a 42-year-old guy, made an effort to flee and drove toward the police station.

Moreover, when the other car arrived, and additional shots were fired, he had reached the station’s sally port. The individual was sent to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition. The 46-year-old lady was shot in the head and transferred to the same hospital, where she was later declared dead, according to the police.

Just after two in the morning on Sunday in South Austin on the West Side, a person was discovered shot to death. Officers discovered him with a gunshot wound to the neck in the 4900 block of West Superior Street. They transported him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he passed away, according to the police.
