Majove Desert founds dead bodies of California musician and wife

United States: A longtime California musician and his wife were found dead on a dirt road in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

The bodies of Larry and Betty Petree were discovered on Sunday in the afternoon east of California City, as per the sources. Body of Larry Petree was in the seat of driver while Betty was discovered outside the couple’s car, leaning against the rear tire.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, which did not identify the Petrees at that time, does not suspect criminal activity played a factor in the death of couple.

Along with this, the Petrees, who had been married for more than 60 years, is believed to have run out of gas and become stranded, as per the sources.

The 88-year-old-Larry Petree had just performed with the band the Soda Crackers at the Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame benefit concert on July 30.

He was a beloved musician of the Bakersfield Sound era in the 1950s, as well as played pedal steel guitar.

A friend of the couple-Kim Hays discussed her shock about the Petrees’ tragic passing with the sources.

In addition, Hays shared the information, “He always had a smiling face. He was just a sweet guy, as well as he was always there to help other individuals. I just can not believe they are gone as well as in such a bizarre fashion.”

The fiddler of the Soda Crackers, Zane Adamo, mourned Larry Petree’s loss on social media.

Adamo mentioned in the statement, “We had the honour of having Larry as our steel guitarist at our first-ever show in Bakersfield.”

“And had the even greater honour of playing with him for his previous show a few weeks ago. We send our condolences to the Petree family as well as the greater Bakersfield Sound community.”
