United States: A US Postal service worker was attacked to death by a pack of five dogs in rural Florida over the weekend, according to the authorities.
The person that was dead was identified as Pamela Jane Rock of Melrose, who was attacked by dogs after her vehicle broke down, as per the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred in the Interlachen Lake Estates area on Sunday.
As per the officials, the 61-year-old Pamela jane Rock died at a hospital on Monday night, addressing a news conference on Tuesday.
When the residents, including the owner of the dogs and other neighbours, heard the woman’s cries, they rushed to help her.
She was screaming for help as she lay on the ground, trying to fend off the dogs, said the police officials.
Along with this, Putnam County Sheriff Chief Deputy Colonel Joseph Wells mentioned in the statement, “One of the neighbours even brought his firearm along and fired several shots into the air and to the ground in an attempt to disrupt the attack.”
According to the sheriff’s office, the neighbours, as well as the owner, were successful in physically pulling off the dogs from the victim. When the officials arrived at the spot, the owner had pulled the dogs back onto their property, but Pamela was lying on the ground and was bleeding heavily.
