United States: A shooting took place at Whitmer High School in the United States, Ohio, during their game against Central Catholic High School, in which about three people were shot, including two adults and one juvenile, as per the police officials.
They received non-life-threatening injuries, as per the Toledo Police department.
Along with this, the game was being played at Whitmer High School against Central Catholic at the time of the shooting. The Toledo Police Department does not have any suspects at a similar time.
According to the sources, Washington Local Schools Superintendent Kadee Anstadt released a statement following the incident.
Anstadt mentioned in the statement, “We are deeply saddened that an act of violence disrupted a fun rivalry tonight in the streets surrounding our event. What we know at this time is limited, and we will not speculate until further details are known.”
“An event like this is every school district’s worst nightmare, and we ask that you keep both Central and Whitmer in your thoughts as we attempt to figure out this atrocious act.”
In addition, the police officials reached the crime scene, Toledo Fire and Rescue arrived, started treating the victims and transported them to area hospitals.
Furthermore, once the place was secured and it was determined that there was no longer an active threat, the school’s lockdown was lifted, and the attendees were allowed to leave, says the police officials.
