Castries, Saint Lucia:Â Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has travelled to Barbados on December 29, 2022, to have an interactive session with the Ambassador of the United States of Barbados as well as the Eastern Caribbean H.E Linda S. Taglialatela as well as officials of the Regional Security System to take a look at potential opportunities that may facilitate extra support as well as assistance to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force-RSLPF.
At the time of his engagements in Barbados with the H.E. Taglialatela, RSS Taglialatela as well as her team, the PM of Saint Lucia has participated in the series of High-Level discussions as well as consultations on crime reduction measures and security assistance to build and develop workable crime-fighting strategies both at the policy as well as tactical levels to maintain the safety of the people of Saint Lucia as well as extricate criminal elements from the island’s peace-loving neighbourhoods and communities, according to the office of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia.
Along with this, Philip J. Pierre has continued to actively pursue viable crime reduction solutions with domestic, regional as well as international stakeholders and partners to facilitate the mobilisation as well as deployment of resources to the RSLPF.
The US remains a strategic hemispherically as well as developmental partner to Saint Lucia. Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire, will act as the Prime Minister till the month of December 30, 2022.Â
