USA Weather: Wet, murky conditions continue, cold air prevails

United States: Steve Lyttle, a Former Charlotte Observer weather writer, shared the update on the weather in Carolina, United States. A cold air wedge remains firmly in charge of the weather. He said, “OUR WET, MURKY CONDITIONS CONTINUE.”

He shared the information through his official social media and stated that it is day three of the Fog-fest around the Charlotte region, as a cold air wedge remains firmly in charge of the weather. 

“We’re now into Day 3 of the Fog-fest around the Charlotte region, as a cold air wedge remains firmly in charge of our weather. At this time of year, it’s difficult to overcome these wedges, with not a lot of heat to erode the pocket of cold air trapped near the surface.”

People of Carolina, USA, are stuck in the pattern again, and although the forecast originally called for a high in the mid to upper 60s, that was a blunder. 

He mentioned in the statement, “I should have known yesterday that the wedge would hold firm. There are signs that it could erode Thursday, but a lowering of forecast temperatures would be the wise move.”

It will be Friday before a frontal system erodes the wedge, but we’re likely to get stuck in yet another cold air wedge over the weekend. Fortunately, the weekend pattern doesn’t look quite as damp, but a lot of clouds will still be around.

TODAY: Overcast and cool, with temperatures in the mid 50s most of the day, although it could reach 60 in the late afternoon if clouds thin a bit. Showers are falling in the mountains this afternoon, but it looks as if only an isolated shower or two will reach the Piedmont. Drizzle is likely at times, though.

TONIGHT: Cloudy, with patchy fog (nothing like last night), and a low of 56.

THURSDAY: Overcast again, with a high of 63.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, with showers arriving after midnight. Low of 53.

FRIDAY: Cloudy, with off-and-on showers, ending around midday. High of 58.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, with a low of 46.

SATURDAY: Clouds, for the most part, with a high around 55.

SUNDAY: Clouds and limited sunshine, with a high of 54.

MONDAY: Clouds, some sun, and a high of 54.

TUESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds, with a high around 55.
