Eastern Caribbean States: Caribbean may experience a natural disaster

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (ECS) and the High Commission of Canada in Barbados shared the latest information about the Caribbean region. They extended that the Caribbean is seven times more likely to experience a natural disaster than any other larger state.

As per the reports, a natural disaster in this region can cause six times more damage than anything.

The Head of Cooperation, Abebech Assefa, also voluntarily contributed and joined partners at the launch of the Barbados Post Disaster Needs Assessment Workshop.

Furthermore, Head of Cooperation Abebech Assefa, at the launch of the Barbados Post Disaster Needs Assessment Workshop, also discussed and highlighted brief information regarding the Gender theme.

Meanwhile, Abebech Assefa also extended his speech and added that Gender is a cross-cutting theme of the wee (a long training facilitated by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Barbados EC).

During his speech, the Head of the corporation, Assefa, voluntarily comes front-forth to put an initiative for supporting through the EnGender Project( for gender equality) that Canada and UK fund in Barbados and Eastern Caribbean.

In regard to this, People are impacted differently because of the current and fluent changes in climate events. They should acknowledge that if we undertake our needs assessments, we will surely risk the aggravating and pre-existing inequalities along with the newly created ones.
