Londonderry Bay, Dominica: On Monday, May 15, 2023, another test match was played between Castle Bruce Secondary Boys and Portsmouth Secondary School, resulting in a dominating victory for CBSS over PSS as CBSS defeated PSS by innings and 94 runs.
The match was played at Londonderry. PSS won the toss, and they elected to bat first. Unfortunately, the first innings drastically for Portsmouth Secondary School, who managed to score only eighteen runs in their first innings.
On the bowling side of CBSS, Earsinho Fontaine took six wickets in four overs giving not even a single run. Another bowler Aiden Burton, dismissed two batsmen of PSS by giving six runs in two overs. Damian Frederick also sent one batsman back to the pavilion by giving four runs in 1.3 overs.
To win the first innings and take the lead over PSS, the Castle Bruce Secondary Boys needed eighteen runs. Successfully achieving the target, they scored 154 runs by losing four wickets. The captain of CBSS declared the innings setting a target of 136 to level the score and keeping the hope of winning the match.
Earsinho Fontaine, the top scorer from CBSS, scored 74 runs (Windward Islands Under 15 player). Aiden Burton also significantly by scoring remarkable 48 runs.
While playing their second innings, PSS was already trailing by 136 runs and, unfortunately, failed to level the score. Their batting order collapsed after scoring just 42 runs resulting in a dominating victory for CBSS by playing just one inning.
Aiden Burton took five wickets in five overs by giving thirteen wickets. Damian Frederick dismissed three batsmen of PSS in their second innings by giving five runs in 1.4 overs. Earsinsho Fontaine, the top scorer and six wicket-taker in the first inning, also dismissed one player in second inning of PSS by giving four runs in 1.3 overs.
