CCCUL Dublanc FC seals dominating victory over Portsmouth Bombers FC, 4-0

On June 3, 2023, CCCUL Dublanc FC put on an impressive performance, defeating Portsmouth Bombers FC with a commanding 4-0 victory at Almond Park. The match was marked by the return of Jerome Burkard in goal after a few weeks on the sidelines, along with the notable debuts of Audel Laville and Patchenko Dijinho in the starting lineup. Additionally, veteran player Chad ‘Rusty’ Bertrand made a memorable comeback, starting the game on the bench.

The match kicked off at 6:37 pm with both teams trying to find their rhythm, resulting in a scrappy start. However, Briel ‘Bable’ Thomas broke the deadlock in the 26th minute. He received a precise low corner kick from Audel Laville and calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net, giving Dublanc the lead.

The home team continued to dominate, and in the 31st minute, McCorney ‘Munie’ Royer doubled their advantage. Muncie capitalized on a long throw-in into the Portsmouth box that the Bombers failed to clear, finding the back of the net and making it 2-0. The first half ended with Dublanc in control, leading by two goals.

Dublanc carried their attacking momentum into the second half, constantly pressing Portsmouth. In the 56th minute, Myrric Shillingford extended Dublanc’s lead to 3-0. Myrric took advantage of a poorly cleared corner kick by Portsmouth, and with a well-placed shot, he found the back of the net.

Muncie was in fine form throughout the match and completed his brace in the 59th minute. Taking advantage of a poor backpass from a Portsmouth defender, Munie seized the opportunity and slotted the ball home to make it 4-0 in Dublanc’s favour.

Substitutions were made by CCCUL Dublanc FC in the 65th minute, with Savio Anselm and Jervanie Xavier replacing Patchenko and Tristane Shillingford, respectively. In the 70th minute, Shikel St. Marie came on for Munie, and in the 78th minute, Chad Bertrand and Danphil Daniel were brought in, replacing Myrric and Travis Joseph.

After his long absence, the crowd erupted in a roar to welcome Rusty back onto the field. The match concluded with a 4-0 victory for CCCUL Dublanc FC. It was challenging to single out the best players for Dublanc, as the entire starting lineup delivered exceptional performances.

Audel Laville and Patchenko Dijinho seamlessly integrated with the team, showcasing their talents and adding value. Despite returning from injury, Jerome Burkard displayed comfort and excellent decision-making skills in goal. Munie’s brace kept him in the race for the top goal scorer, while Bable again demonstrated his prowess in the opponent’s box.

Additionally, Myrric’s rare goal was a confidence booster, rounding off a fantastic performance. The CCCUL Dublanc FC team showcased their cohesion and efficiency, functioning like a well-oiled machine and maintaining their position at the top of the table. It was an exciting match for the Dublanc faithful, thrilled with the team’s dominant display.
