New Antigua Carnival Passport provides visitors with access pass to Caribbean’s greatest Summer festival

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) and the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission launched a new regional ‘Antigua Carnival Passport‘ promotion over the weekend, bringing the ‘Mas, Music and Creativity’ of ‘Antigua Carnival’, The Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival, to Trinidad and Tobago.

The “Antigua Carnival Passport” programme highlights the vibrant culture of Antigua and Barbuda and offers carnival aficionados the incredible chance to win an all-access pass to Antigua’s Carnival.

Lucky winners of the Carnival Passport receive a journey to take part in the thirteen thrilling days of “Antigua Carnival” from 27 July to 8 August 2023, along with admission to official “Antigua Carnival” events and tourist sites.

There is a new buzz about Antigua’s carnival in the region, according to Charmaine Spencer, director of tourism for the Caribbean and Latin America at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

“More carnival-followers are drawn to our extensive carnival schedule, unique style of mas, energising music, colourful costumes, and for the real party-lovers, the non-stop partying options available during the season,” Spencer said.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority collaborated with the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission, the all-inclusive Royalton Antigua Resort & Spa, and Caribbean Airlines for the Trinidad portion of the “Antigua Carnival Passport” promotion.

Visitors at the C3 Mall in San Fernando and the East Gates Mall over the weekend were encouraged to travel to Antigua and Barbuda after learning about the region’s attractions, tasting local fare, interacting with cultural artists, and hearing soca music from the two islands.

Additionally, they were added to the drawing for the passport to the Antigua Carnival. Over 600 submissions were submitted over the course of the two-day contest, and at the conclusion of each day, winners were announced live on the Trinidad radio stations Slam 100.5FM, VibeCT 105.1FM, The Ultimate 95.1FM, and Sangeet 106.1FM.

Along with mall promotions, ABTA Director of Tourism Charmaine Spencer gave presentations on the destination to an audience of significant Trinidad and Tobago tour operators and travel agents, along with partners Blue Diamond Resorts (Royalton Antigua) Senior Sales & Contracting Manager, Key Accounts, Mr Juan Pilier, and Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission Deputy Director Cleofoster Harris. The presentations were followed by discussions on summer bookings.

For the month of June, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority will continue its advertising in Trinidad and Tobago through the Guardian Media group’s radio stations. A trip for two to Antigua and Barbuda, including three nights at the Royalton Antigua Resort, airport transfers, and a free tour, will be given away to listeners of the stations.
