Alex Hales, the English cricketer known for his power-hitting and dominant playing style, didn’t make much impact. Again, Jason Holder succeeded in trapping big fish and dismissed Alex in sixth over.

Laurie Evans, another English cricketer, astonishingly grabbed his catch while running backwards. Alex scored 12 runs in 10 balls. Sharmarh Brooks remains the top scorer from Jamaica Tallawah’s side.

He played a crucial inning when his team was three down before the powerplay was over. Brooks scored 78 in just 41 balls, hitting 7 fours and 4 sixes. Coming on the field in 5th over, he stayed until 18th over and provided his team with a defending score.

Imad Wasim, the Pakistan-born, remained the second top scorer from the Jamaican side, scoring 33 in 34 balls, not much but crucial runs when needed.

In twenty overs, Jamaica Tallawahs scored 160 runs by losing seven wickets. Barbados Royals were needed 161 in 20 overs.

Like Jamaica Tallawahs, the opening batters of Barbados Royals collapsed early, scoring just 25 runs. The English cricketer Laurie Evans stayed on pitch with the Dominican youngster Alick Athanaze, the star player who scored 76 in 48 balls.

Athanaze’s explosive innings almost sealed victory for Barbados Royals. Laurie Evans also assisted Royals with 30 runs and spent significant time on the pitch, defending his wicket and providing a strike to the Dominican youngster.

The partnership of Evans and Athanaze contributed 106 runs. Rovmann Powell, the skipper and Jason Holder finished the job. Barbados Royals declared victorious by six wickets, achieving the target with six balls remaining.

On the CPL Point table, Jamaica Tallawahs ranks fourth with one loss, one victory and one draw in their previous three matches. Despite the loss, they are ahead of Barbados Royals. Both teams have five points, but Jamaica Tallawahs are ahead due to NRR.
