CPL: Jamaica Tallawahs beat SKN Patriots by eight wickets

During the seventh T20 match of the Caribbean Premier League at Werner Park, Nebraska, Jamaica Tallawahs defeated SKN Patriots by eight wickets with 21 balls remaining. Jamaica dominated SKN and moved to first place on CPL point table with two victories and 1 draw in their last three games.

Jamaica won the toss and elected to bowl first. Joshua Da Silva, the Trinidadian, remains the top scorer for SKN Patriot side by contributing 36 runs in 32 deliveries, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Salman Irshad, the Pakistan-born all-rounder, dismissed him. Silva tried to score another boundary but ended up giving a fine catch to Kirik Mckenzie at point. He played a crucial innings for his team and got dismissed on last ball of fifteenth over (112/7).

Dominic Drake and Andre Fletcher significantly contributed. 52 runs collectively. The opening batsman, Fletcher, scored 23 runs in 15 balls, hitting 4 fours. Drake, coming at number eight provided an initial boost by scoring 29 runs in 22 balls, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes.

For the first innings, SKN Patriots scored 156 runs by losing nine wickets. The Pakistan’s pacer Mohammed Amir remained the most successful bowler in first innings by getting three wickets.

Jamaica Tallawahs needed 157 runs in twenty overs to win the match. Brandon King, the skipper, played a dominant innings, hitting 67 runs in just 33 balls with a strike rate of 203.03, hitting 7 fours and 4 sixes.

Sharmarh completed the chase and brought victory for his team. He scored 38 runs in 31 balls. Kirik Mckenzie also contributed with 23 runs.

Jamaican Tallawahs sealed victory by eight wickets with 21 balls remaining. They sealed the top spot in CPL table with two wins and one draw. On the other hand, SKN Patriots moved to number 4 with two losses and two ties.
