Disney Cruise Line names its Seventh ship in the fleet as Disney Adventure, a former incomplete 208,000 tons Global-class ship acquired from Genting Cruise Lines’s defunct brand, Dream Cruises, where she was previously known as Global Dream.
Conversion works are currently underway in the MV Werften shipyard in Germany, where Meyer Werft will supervise the project.
However, there are rumours about the delay of the completion date (delivery) on Disney Adventure due to earlier months of project uncertainty, where she could be dragged till possibly 2026.
Her passenger capacity will be reduced to 6,000. It will be powered by an environment-friendly Green Methanol, which is a low-carbon fuel made from either biomass gasification or renewable electricity and captured carbon dioxide (CO2).
Disney Cruise Line will be coming to Southeast Asia for the first time, and its newest ship, the Disney Adventure, will set sail from Singapore starting in 2025.
The brand-new Disney Adventure will homeport exclusively in Singapore for at least five years, welcoming locals and visitors aboard for magical cruise vacations.
The vessel is expected to sail throughout Southeast Asia, featuring the Disney service, storytelling and entertainment. Formerly, the uncompleted Global Dream of Dream Cruises (part of the collapsed Genting HK Group) was bought by Disney Cruise Line last November 2022 and is currently under conversion and expected to be ready by 2025.
This announcement was made during Destination D23, the biggest Disney fan event of the year, which took place three days ago at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The Disney teams are collaborating with talented artists and cultural advisors in the Bahamas to shape an experience that celebrates the natural beauty, traditions and artistry of the one-of-a-kind.
