Trinidad and Tobago: Two Charged, Two Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Two men were charged for Larceny Motor Vehicle in separate incidents as police continue extensive investigations into stolen vehicle reports. Two vehicles reported stolen were also recovered.

Terrence Shellford Johnson, 35, of Sam Boucaud, Santa Cruz, was arrested and subsequently charged yesterday, Friday, September 15, 2023.

He is the second person to be detained on suspicion of being involved in the theft of a silver Toyota Aqua reported in the Central Division in March. On March 17, 2023, members of the Stolen Vehicles Squad took possession of the automobile.

The investigation, spearheaded by Snr Supt Ramkelawan, Supt Pariman, and ASP Ramdass and directly supervised by Insp Lazarus and Sgt Julien, led to the arrest.

Christian Joshua was charged yesterday for the offence by PC Ramnarine. The investigation was coordinated by Inspector Grant and supervised by Acting Cpls Huggins and King.

Justice of the Peace Stephen Young set Johnson’s bail at $100,000 with a surety. Johnson sells secondhand cars. On September 21, 2023, he is anticipated to attend court in Couva.

Officers stopped a silver Nissan Aqua with two people inside earlier this week. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Western Division, according to checks. Two people were detained: a 20-year-old from Diego Martin and a 22-year-old from Lopinot Road in Arouca, arrested.

During a roving exercise conducted in the Division yesterday, found at Sparrow Drive and Simeon Road in Petit Valley was a silver Nissan Tiida that had been reported stolen in Barataria.

Following the recovery of a silver Nissan Sylphy that had been reported stolen in St. Joseph on September 14, 2023, officers from the St. Joseph CID are conducting additional investigations.

During an Operation Blue Line exercise conducted yesterday between 8 and 10 a.m., based on information received, officers proceeded to Sadoo Trace, El Socorro Extension. A search of the area led to the recovery of the vehicle.
