Windsor Park Dominica among seven Caribbean venues to host 2024 T20 World Cup

Roseau, Dominica: Dominica was named among seven Caribbean venues to host matches during the T20 World Cup, which runs from June 4-30, 2024. The Windsor Park Stadium in Roseau, Dominica, will host the ICC CT20 World Cup from June 4-30, 2024.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) yesterday confirmed the seven venues in the Caribbean that will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 from 4 to June 30.

Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago will host games along with three venues in the USA – Dallas, Florida and New York.

Windsor Park Sports Stadium is confirmed as one of the venues for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies in June 2024. The Windsor Park Stadium will host a Cricket World Cup match for the first time.

The last time Dominica hosted a big cricket event was a test match between India and West Indies on July 12, 2023. The Dominican cricket fans were upset for not choosing Windsor Park Stadium for England’s tour of the West Indies in December 2023.

Now, it’s a big moment of joy for Dominican cricket fans as the country is set to host a World Cup match. Dominica is ready to play hosts to the world for exciting cricket action on the Nature Island. The Multi-purpose stadium serves as the country’s national stadium to host Cricket and Football matches.

The Venue was named after Windsor, England, situated in Eastern Roseau, and has a capacity of 12000 seats. It was levelled out of a rubbish dump previously known as Cow Town.

New work on the stadium was started on March 24, 2005, and completed on February 7, 2007. The stadium was officially opened on October 24, 2007.
