West Indies women crumbled at 103, lost three-match series (2-0)

Melbourne, Australia: West Indies Women lost three-match bilateral series against Australia, scoring just 103 runs, an easy target for Aussies women, which they reached in just 15.3 overs and claimed victory.

The Windies’ women, who performed brilliantly with bat in ODI and T20 series against India yesterday, crumbled at 103 only in 31.4 overs.

Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first. Windies captain Hayley Matthews and Zaida James arrived on the pitch to face Aussies bowling first.

Facing 15 balls and scoring none, Zaida was dismissed by Kim Garth. She drew the first blood, picking the edge and sending her back to pavilion duck.

Kim Garth made a massive blow to West Indies, picking the dangerous woman and in-form batter, Hayley Matthews. He got LBW in eighth over without making a significant impact, returning to the pavilion and scoring just 23 runs. West Indies women are down to 28/2, losing their opening batters with eight overs.

Another success for Australian women in 12th over, Annabel Sutherland, the young Australian all-round, dismissed her grabbing the catch herself.

Rashada Williams, the Jamaican, remained top scorer from Windies scoring 25 runs in 71 balls hitting 3 fours. Later, the Windies batting order kept losing wickets and got all out in 31.4 overs, putting just 103 on board.

The Aussies women comfortably reached the required target in just 15.3 overs and won three-match bilateral series by (2-0). The second match was abandoned due to rain. West Indies women performed awfully in first ODI, crumbling at 83.
