Bermuda knock Barbados out of Nations League

Barbados national women’s team is out of the Nations League after losing to Bermuda (4-2) last night. It was another encouraging performance from the Lady Tridents tonight, but unfortunately, they didn’t get the result they wanted. The dream of Barbados of qualifying for the inaugural Concacaf W Gold Cup is over.

Appreciating the performance of Barbados’ women in the overall campaign and yesterday’s match, the Barbados Football Association wrote an appreciation note which reads, “We are extremely proud of you ladies! Our Lady Tridents will finish third in Group C of League B next month when they take on St Vincent & the Grenadines”.

Bermuda claimed a 4-2 win over Barbados in the Concacaf Road to W Gold Cup series this evening in an exciting match that saw Bermuda make a tremendous start, scoring three goals in the first 12 minutes.

During the match, Jaden Masters scored the first goal for Bermuda in the opening minutes of the game. Victoria Davis followed it up with an impressive long-range strike, making it 2-0 in favour of Bermuda by the 10th minute.

Aaliyah Nolan then scored in the 12th minute, taking the lead to 3-0 within seven minutes of the start of the match.

Barbados managed to get on the score sheet when Ashanee Thompson scored in the 34th minute. She then scored another goal just before half-time, bringing the score to 3-2. However, Aaliyah Nolan secured a second goal in the 74th minute, making the final score 4-2 in favour of Bermuda.
