On Thursday, a high-speed brightline train hit a blue car that went close the railroad of the crossing gates. Two people died with their Toyota. The train was getting around the entrance near Miami as per the data.
Surveillance video obtained shows the collision, around 6:00 am, the crossing gate lights lit up, and the bells were ringing as it was the signal for approaching the train. Moreover, the car was damaged on a different roadside after the accident. On the other hand, what happened to the vehicle was not identified yet.
The officials said no one was injured on the Brightline train. As the Brightline statement mentioned, “This was an unfortunate accident as well as it includes only one person driving near the gates which stood down and flashing lights along with bells that were ringing. The bells and lights were used to approach the train.”

However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the trains were temporarily cancelled, but recently it is started. Earlier this month, a man walking down North Miami Beach who was also struck by a brightline train died. It was the 49th happening that was involved with a Brightline train since it was launched in mid-2017 by the Miami to West Beach line.
Apart from this, On 8th November, the first day of the Brightline train was after the pandemic. President Patrick Goddard, onboard Brightline, was struck in a car in Pompano Beach.
Additionally, two people in the vehicle, a 71-year-old grandmother with her granddaughter 1-year-old. Afterwards, they both were taken to the hospital. The woman had minor injuries, but the child was conscious.
In December 2019, Brightline trains ranked the most increased U.S. death rate on the tracks, with 40 fatalities.
Although None of the deaths was caused by crew error or defective equipment, and a majority seem to have been suicides.
They reminded that people should not drive around the gates or avoid the flashlights at the railroad crossings. Apart from this, the train travels at 79mph, a high-speed train.
