Florida: former college cheerleader proven guilty for killing three women

In Florida, a former college cheerleader has accepted that he was involved in the deaths of around three Florida women who used to work as a prostitute.

On Tuesday, 22 February, Robert Hayes 39-year-old, was sentenced to death. This incident happened more than 15 years ago during the winter of 2006. At that time, he was a senior criminal justice major at the Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach (chief).

The police officials arrested him in 2019, and it was three years after he killed another person. The investigators worked on that case and matched all of the DNA from all of the four crimes.

Moreover, years earlier, when the killings were happening in Daytona Beach, the law enforcement officers were only asking questions from Hayes about the incidents, but he was not arrested. On the other hand, he also purchased a gun that was the same, which was used for killing the first three victims.

He killed all of those three women in Palm Beach County.

As per the information provided by the reports, the investigators mentioned that when he was under surveillance so that they could observe his activities, he secretly took a beer can and a cigarette, but he dumped that, and the DNA for that objects matched the DNA of the murderer.

Additionally, the dead body of 45-year-old Laquetta Gunther was discovered in 2005 around Christmas, in between the auto parts store and a primarily empty utility building.

Meanwhile, the body of Julie Green, 34-year-old, was found on 14 January 2006 on a dirt road on the construction site.

On 24 February, Iwana Patton’s body was on a dirt road. She was not wearing any anything (naked), and her face was towards the downside, and her head was shot.

Furthermore, Patton was a college graduate who moved to Daytona Beach and worked on a maximum of two jobs, said Annesah Farris, her niece, in 2009 when Hayes was under arrest.

“Looking at her friends, her acquaintances and the company that she kept, she never would have associated with him.”
